Military Camouflage Backpacks

Camouflage backpacks are a popular alternative to traditional bags. Military grade backpacks offer both durability and convenience to hikers who need something that can hold up to their adventures, and these camouflage backpacks offer both style and function. They often have available accessories for extended trips. Some military, camouflage backpacks have lightweight aluminum frames which are wonderful for longer hikes where more gear is needed. Many are convertible for shorter hikes where a lighter pack would be preferred. These bags often have external straps, which come in handy if you need to carry sleeping bags or other large accessories.

The backpacks that soldiers use in the field is frequently replicated for use by civilians. Also, military surplus stores provide people with a chance to purchase items which are no longer required by the army. Camouflage backpacks can be picked up in both of these venues. Items designed for the armed services must meet stringent specifications, so camouflage backpacks bought at a surplus store will be far more durable than a regular backpack. Green, green camouflage, and sand camouflage backpacks are generally available, and hikers often prefer them for their durability.

If you are going to purchase a that has an external metal frame, you need to check that the frame fits the person who will be wearing the pack. If the frame is the incorrect size, not even a lumbar pad will prevent pain from the rubbing of the frame against the lower back. When sizing camouflage backpacks with an external frame, the frame’s top edge should fall slightly above the shoulders. This will allow the shoulder braces to comfortably rest on top of the shoulders, so the weight of the won’t pull down and rub the top of the shoulders. Comfort is key when choosing any for hiking purposes, particularly if you will be carrying a lot of gear.

Choosing The Right Camouflage Backpacks

No matter what kind of hiking you do, there are camouflage backpacks available to meet your needs. Smaller belt packs can be purchased for shorter hikes. These allow hikers to carry enough food and water for a day trip, without having too much excess space or weight. Larger packs, sometimes referred to as rocket packs, can hold enough gear for several days on the trail. The military often uses these types of packs for long-range patrols, and they often include straps to hold the pack securely around the stomach and shoulders. This prevents the bag from sliding around and causing discomfort.

Some mid-sized camouflage backpacks come equipped with an internal wire frame, which can help hold the pack open. This allows the hiker to easily place items in the bag or remove them. Also, wicking materials can be beneficial so that the content of your bag stays dry no matter what the weather has in store. Conditions can change rapidly on the trail.
